Caley Lewis |

Caley is the current WMC 57K Australian title holder. She has trained in Thailand before but chose Sinbi Muay Thai on this occasion on the recommendation of other people who train at her gym in Perth. She has come specifically to develop her fighting experience and was able to set up suitable fights prior to arriving. Her first impressions are that Sinbi Muay Thai is very well run and offers excellent accommodation. She feels that the trainers here are considerably more involved and interested in developing the skills and potential of their students than has been her experience elsewhere.

Nico Meyer - Insithong
Nickname: Nico Meyer
Fighting name: Insithong
Started training Muay Thai: 8
Region of origin: Germany
First fight: 8
Date of birth: 18 November 2010
Number of fights: 20
Wins: 16
Losses: 4
Draws: 0
Titles:
Amateur Champion NRW in 2006 - Germany
Nico is from Germany and became interested in martial arts at a very young age. He started Karate at 7 and eventually became a Brown Belt in this discipline. His interest in fighting arose as a result of playing the computer game Mortal Combat with his brother. He wanted to be a good fighter too. Although he tried other sports like Ice Hockey and Football, nothing else gave him the same level of satisfaction and enjoyment as fighting did. From the age of 8 when he started Kick Boxing and Muay Thai he was hooked!
When he was 12 years old, he started coming to Thailand every year to train for a month. Initially, he went to Jelarertong Gym in Bangkok where he met Met, a trainer he formed a particular attachment to. Met gave Nico his Thai fighting name Insithong. This the Thai word for Golden Eagle – a golden eagle is a graphic which appears on all German passports. In the past, Met was also trained Sing (and a number of our other trainers). When Sing opened Sinbi Muay Thai, Met came to Phuket to work at the gym and therefore it was only natural to Nico that he would come to Sinbi to train too.
In Germany Nico was Amateur Champion NRW in 2005. However, it was not easy for him to get fights in Germany and at the age of 17 Nico realised that if he wanted to fulfill his dream of becoming a great fighter, then he would have to come and train in Thailand on a permanent basis. He left his family and came alone to settle in Phuket and train at Sinbi Gym. He has now been at the gym for about 18 months and since he has been here has been able to gain considerable fight experience. He has had 20 fights so far and won 16 of them. He went to Germany with Dee and Saenchai to fight last year. He fought Petsao and won. He has fought in Korea twice and he fought in Bangkok for the Queen’s birthday.

Ann Sinbi - Delangoo
Nickname: Ann Sinbi
Fighting name: Delangoo
Started training Muay Thai: 7
Region of origin: Sutan, South Thailand
First fight: 7
Date of birth: 10 January 1983
Number of fights: 200
Wins: 150
Losses: 37
Draws: 3
Titles:
South Thailand Champion at 105 lbs
South Thailand Champion AT 118 lbs
WMC 130 lbs Champion
Ranked Number 1 Ratchadamnoen Stadium
Ann's father was a figher so it was natural for him to become a fighter too. He comes from Sutan in the South of Thailand and started boxing at the age of 7. The gym he trained at in Sutan was called Torsamakom. He had his first fight at the age of 7. He was South Thailand Champion at 105 lbs (15 years old) and 118 lbs (18 years old). He went to Bangkok to train at the age of 15 and trained at the Chuwattana Gym. His manager was Chujuran, a well known promoter at Ratchadamnoen Stadium. His most memorable fights were against Orono from Majestic Gym and Jarunchai from Kasa Gym. During the peak of his fighting career he fought in Japan 8 times, Korea twice and Holland once. He was the WMC Champion at 130 lbs (i.e. World Number 1) and this fight took place in Holland. At the age of 23 he decided to sacrifice his place as one of the top ranked fighters at Ratchadamnoen in order to study. He went to Chankasem University to study Sports Science. As soon as he finished university, however, he went back to his first love - Muay Thai and became a trainer at Sinbi Muay Thai. He has recently resumed his fighting career and has recently put in some impressive performances at Bangla Stadium in Patong, Phuket. He also had the opportunity to spar with Saenchai at an event put on by Sinbi Promotions at Bangla Stadium. As Ann is still only 27, we are optimistic that his fighting career is by no means over.
